How and what triggered the flour crisis, the government sought answers

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Mamun Rasheed Sheikh heard the petition against raising the prices of flour and wheat. The court, while issuing quotes from the federal government and the Punjab government, sought response and told how the crisis was born and what caused it.



The court also ordered Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Food Punjab and Director State Bank to appear in person.

The petitioner Azhar Siddique advocate took the stand that the government allowed export of 4 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, the wheat was exported at Rs 29 per kg and heavy rebate was also given.
