It should be noted that the clay of the moon is also called Lunar Regulus. The specimens recovered from the moon have been carefully studied in every period, from the Apollo missions to the Earth. Research has shown that the rocks of the moon contain 40 to 45 percent oxygen.
However, the oxygen in the moon's soil is not such that it can be used for breathing because the oxygen is locked in a metallic mineral. Now the Yuri Space Research and Technology Center (ESTE) has built a small test plant that can extract oxygen from lunar rock.
Scientists have used the process of decomposition of molten salt. In it, they first poured the clay of the moon and mixed it with the calcium chloride salt by heating it to 950 degrees Celsius. The heat remained solid even this summer. After this light was added to the mix, oxygen was released from the moon. In this process, the molten salt helped pass the electricity like an electrolyte, and oxygen accumulated at one end of the anode.
This small plant proved that it is possible to extract oxygen from the soil of the moon, which will make it possible for humans to prepare oxygen to the moon. In the process, oxygen came out as well as many useful metals that could be used for months.
Following this success, a team of scientists will work to improve the project
