The Galileo satellite system is now capable of responding to a life-saving signal

This new feature of the Galileo Satellite System has been added to the European Science Conference in Brussels on January 21. Although guided and guided satellites have been in space since the 1960s. But instead of relying on the US GPS and Russian navigation systems, Europe moved its own 30-point satellite into space, of which 26 satellites still operate.



The Galileo system is also part of the Special Search system in Canada, France, Russia and the United States under Search and Rescue in 1979 (Search and Rescue). According to European experts, only one smartphone reports an accident to the satellite. Help is sent to this place when it is reported. In this way, two lives are being saved annually.


Now the return link has been added to this satellite system. As soon as someone in need sends a signal to help, the Galileo Satellite sends the signal again to that person within 2 minutes to 30 minutes.
