Chairman FBR apologizes for continuing the work of Shibir Zaidi

According to sources, Shibir Zaidi, for personal reasons, apologized for continuing the FBR chairmanship. Shibir Zaidi says he is ill and the doctor has advised him to rest so he can no longer work.

Shibir Zaidi said that he had talked to Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard, he would not be able to hold further charge of the post. Shibir Zaidi said he has requested the Prime Minister to find a new name for the chairman FBR.

According to sources, other names including Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, Javed Ghani, Noushin Javed Amjad are under consideration for the new chairman FBR, while Aaron Akhtar is likely to be appointed as advisor.

Chairman FBR Shabir Zaidi has been on vacation for the past several days and rumors and speculation have been brewing in his absence. There were also reports of differences between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shabir Zaidi. Shuber Zaidi rejected the news of the differences as baseless.
