Islamabad High Court to review Pakistan's decision not to expel Pakistanis from China

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Manullah heard the petition on government action related to Corona virus, a report written by the Foreign Ministry DG Chen was presented in court.

CJ inquired that Pakistani students were imprisoned in China, other countries including Bangladesh are expelling their citizens from China, Bangladesh can evacuate citizens so why Pakistan cannot do so, we have a question why we should only our citizens. Are not being removed. To which the government representative replied that only 23 of the 194 countries expelled citizens.
The Chief Justice Islamabad High Court gave remarks as to what arrangements were made by the countries which expelled their citizens? If 23 countries can make arrangements to protect their citizens, why not Pakistan, Australia has placed citizens who were expelled from China on an island, you should keep near Gwadar.

The Foreign Ministry representative told the court that Wuhan was locked down by the Chinese government, there are 1,000 Pakistani nationals. Chinese Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi assured that Pakistanis would be taken care of. Whatever decision will be in the interest of the country and the students.

The Foreign Ministry representative on the judicial inquiry said that there is no restriction on the transportation of passengers from China, the airport is screened but no one can be excluded from Wuhan City. The Chief Justice remarked that why do you think that if you remove the citizens, relations with a country will be damaged, there are our citizens trapped there, it is not clear that if the citizens are removed, the relations with any country will deteriorate. Will the State of Pakistan adopt an affidavit declaring who will be responsible if something happens due to the eviction of the citizens?

Justice Athar Manullah said that we do not want that virus to be transmitted here, the foreign ministry wants to solve the problem in the best way. I and you are not its expert. The court wants to ensure the safety of the Pakistanis. It is the responsibility of the Foreign Ministry to take responsibility for its citizens, to decide on Pakistanis trapped in China, the court will not issue any decree that is to be done to the Foreign Ministry. Review the decision not to expel Pakistani nationals from China, we are not giving any orders in this regard, take two weeks.
